Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Q: Who is the child that will be born to us?
Q: Why is Jesus called the the Eternal Father?

Q: Why is Jesus called 'Mighty God? see Isa 10:21 A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God.

Zechariah 12:10 I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.
Q: Who is the 'I' speaking in this verse?
Q: Why does God say that they will look on 'Me'(God) whom they have pierced?
Q: Why is God being pierced on a cross?
Q: Wasn't it Christ who was pierced on the cross? Why is God referring to himself?

Zechariah 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for lo, I come and I will dwell in the midst of you, says the LORD(Jehovah).
Q: Who is speaking?
Q: Why is God going to dwell amongst men?
Q: Compare John chapter one( John 1:1,14 IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.....)
Q:Who was to come? and who lived in the midst of human beings?
Q: Didn't Christ dwell among men? Who is Christ?

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Lo, your king comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, humble and riding on an ass, on a colt the foal of an ass.
Q: Who was it that rode on a donkey? (Matthew 21:5)
Q: Who in Zech 2:10 is speaking?
Q: Why is God going to ride a donkey?

Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
Q: The Bible says that Jesus is the image of the invisible God...what do you make of this?

Colossians 1:19 For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

Q: To be have the fullness of something means to have it's qualities right?

Q: The fullness of what dwells in Jesus? (see Colossians 2:9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, ) Q: According to Col 2:9 what 'fullness' is in Christ in bodily form?

Jn 10:38...The Father is in me, and I am in the Father (also see Jn 8:58)

Jn 10:30 I and the Father are one

Q: Why does Jesus make the claim to be one with the Father?

Q: Can a created being (ie human) make the same bold assertion?

Phil 2:6-8 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking on the nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being formed in appearance of a man, he humbled himself....

Q: Why is Christ said to be the same nature as God?

Q: Why in this passage do we see two nature of Christ?

Q: Why did Christ have to humble himself? What did he have that he lost for a short duration on earth? (hint: see Heb 1:3)

Heb: 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory, the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word

Q: Who is the radiance of God's glory?
Q: Who is the EXACT representation of God's being?

Q: What does this suggest to you?

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Q: Who is the Word?
Q: The Word (God- logos) became flesh...who is this person?
Q: If God is infinite does this seem conceivable that Jesus and God the Father share the same substance / qualities?

John 14:9 Jesus said to him, Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, "Show us the Father'?
Q: If you have seen Jesus you have seen the father....what is Jesus saying? Remember Isaiah 9:6?
Q: What is the connection between John 14:9 John 8:58 , John 8:19 and Matthew 11:27 ?

Q: Why does Thomas refer to Jesus as God?
Q: In the next verse why does Jesus commend Thomas? " Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."
Q: Why does Jesus affirm Thomas's assertion that He is God?

Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.
Isaiah 41:4 .... "I, the LORD, am the first, and with the last. I am He.'
Revelation 2:8 And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life, says this:
Q: How can Jesus be the Alpha and Omega when God the Father claims this title?

1 Timothy 6:15 which He will bring about at the proper time -- He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
Revelation 19:16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Q: How can Jesus be King of kings and Lord of lords, when God is said to be the same in Deuteronomy 10:17?
Q: Who then do we suspect Jesus of being?

Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, / 2 Pet 1:1 ...righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ

Q: Why is Jesus called 'our Great God and Savior' if in fact he is not God?

Q: Could this mean that Jesus shares the same nature as God the Father?

Q: Heb 1:8 But of the Son He says, YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.

Q: Why does God refer to Jesus as God in this verse?
Q: Compare Heb 1:8 to Zechariah 2:7-9 (Jehovah sends Jehovah)

Q: If "Isa 44:6...apart from me there is no God." is true who is Jesus?

In Summary:

Q: If Christ has the same essence, titles, eternal nature, the exact representation of God the Father, the radiance of God's glory, is Lord of lords, King of Kings, the Living Word, the image of the invisible God, Prince of Peace and everlasting Father...who do you suspect Jesus as being? Apart from what any religious group or organization tells you what does the BIBLE clearly demonstrate?
