The Eternal Nature of the Father & Son

  JESUS

Heb 7:14 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.

   GOD

Isa 57:15 For this is what the high and lofty One says- he who lives forever, whose name is holy

Beginning: This term is in reference to 'eternity.'

  JESUS

Rev 1:17...Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.....

   GOD

Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha (beginning) and the Omega (end)," says the Lord God, "Who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

How many firsts and lasts are there? God declares that there is no God apart from him! Yet, Jesus and God both live forever, this poses a problem for people who view Jesus as either 'another god' or prophet.(1)

 JESUS

Heb 1:8 But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and your righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.

 GOD

Ps 90:2 ...from everlasting to everlasting you are God

Isa 40:28...The Lord is the everlasting God the creator of the ends of the earth....

 JESUS

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever

 GOD

Mal 3:6 I the Lord do not change

James 1:17...the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows

 * Note that Heb 13:8 renders Jesus "... the same yesterday, and today and forever." If Jesus was a created being it would only make sense if this passage was rendered 'he was the same 'today and forever...'

  In summary:

God and Jesus are both eternal

They have no beginning and no end.

(Alpha and Omega)

If Jesus has the same eternal attributes (nature) as God the Father,

who is He?
