The Eternal Nature of the Father & Son
Heb 7:14 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. |
Isa 57:15 For this is what the high and lofty One says- he who lives forever, whose name is holy |
Rev 1:17...Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last..... |
Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha (beginning) and the Omega (end)," says the Lord God, "Who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." |
How many firsts and lasts are there? God declares that there is no God apart from him! Yet, Jesus and God both live forever, this poses a problem for people who view Jesus as either 'another god' or prophet.(1) |
Heb 1:8 But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and your righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom. |
Ps 90:2 ...from everlasting to everlasting you are God Isa 40:28...The Lord is the everlasting God the creator of the ends of the earth.... |
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever |
Mal 3:6 I the Lord do not change James 1:17...the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows |
* Note that Heb 13:8 renders Jesus "... the same yesterday, and today and forever." If Jesus was a created being it would only make sense if this passage was rendered 'he was the same 'today and forever...' |
